Grounded Kids Resilient Faith I Christ-Centered Parenting, Biblical Discipleship, Healing After Childhood Trauma

Have you ever asked God, “How am I supposed to raise kids with strong faith when I’m still healing myself?” Do you worry your kids will turn away from God—not because they don’t love Him, but because of the trauma they’ve carried or the pain they never chose? Are you quietly asking if you’re doing enough to help your kids trust God again—while you’re still trying to trust Him too?
If you are parenting after trauma—whether it’s your story, your child’s, or generations of brokenness—you are not alone. Welcome to Grounded Kids Resilient Faith, a podcast to help you raise kids who love Jesus deeply, even when life has been hard.
I’m Tricia Kelley—Jesus follower, homeschool mom, educator, and once a little girl who wondered where God was in the pain and trauma. But one day Jesus met me, healed me, and rewrote my story with grace. Now, I’m raising my own kids while breaking harmful patterns and trusting God with the messy in-between. This isn’t coming from a polished place—it’s coming from real life, real healing, and a deep belief that God can redeem your story too.
Each week, You’ll be equipped with a Christ-centered parenting framework—filled with real-life tools, biblical wisdom you can actually use, and simple discipleship ideas that fit real family life. We talk about faith and fear, healing and hope, and how to lead your kids toward Jesus—even when you’re still learning to trust Him yourself.
You don’t need perfect faith to be a Christ-centered parent. You just need a willing heart, a little courage, and the reminder that God can use even the messy middle for His glory. Join a growing community of Christian parents who are choosing to plant deep roots in Christ—and raise kids who rise strong in faith, even after trauma.

Do you ever feel like conversations bring peace for a moment but the deeper issues keep coming back?
In this episode, we talk about the difference between temporary solutions and true heart healing — and why so many Christian moms find themselves repeating patterns they thought were already resolved.
Through a look at Hebrews 12:1-10, we explore how parenting from unhealed pain can shape our reactions, our words, and ultimately the hearts of our children. But Scripture reminds us that God’s discipline is different — it flows from love, not anger — and His goal is transformation, not simply behavior management.
If you’ve ever wondered: Why old parenting cycles keep resurfacing? How to stop parenting from past wounds? What God’s loving discipline really looks like? How to move from temporary fixes to lasting healing?
…this episode is for you.
You will learn how to recognize the “weights” you carry into parenting, why temporary peace isn’t the same as heart change, and how fixing your eyes on Jesus leads to real healing over time.
Because Jesus isn’t just the answer to parenting problems — He is the healer of the hearts doing the parenting.
Blessings,✨ Tricia

Do you ever feel like God is quiet… even though you’re still praying, still showing up, still raising your children in faith?
You love Him.You believe in Him.But joy feels thin.Your spirit feels dry.
And you wonder, Why does He feel far?
In this episode, we talk about spiritual dryness — the quiet seasons where faith feels heavy and God’s presence feels harder to sense.
Because dryness does not mean abandonment.
Sometimes it comes through exhaustion.Sometimes through self-reliance.Sometimes through unaddressed sin.Sometimes through the weight of healing while parenting.
But Scripture reminds us that when we are thirsty, God does not withdraw. He invites.
Drawing from Isaiah 41:17–20 and John 7:37–39, we look at:
Why dry seasons happen
What God promises in those seasons
How Jesus offers living water through the Holy Spirit
And how a mother’s renewal shapes the faith formation of her children
Your spiritual healing is not separate from your parenting.
Your children are watching how you walk through dry ground.
And when God restores you, that restoration becomes part of their testimony.
Blessings,✨ Tricia

Do you ever feel weary as a Christian parent—raising children in the Lord while still carrying your own story, healing, and unanswered questions?
In this episode I am sharing a personal testimony of how God brought healing not through perfection, but through surrender.  Rather than striving to get everything right, this episode invites parents to consider what it looks like to parent under Christ’s lordship—allowing God to heal, refine, and redeem as we walk with Him.
Through Scripture, we are reminded that God looks at the heart, invites the weary to come to Him, and faithfully leads those who surrender every area of life to Him.
This conversation is for weary Christian parents who long to raise children deeply rooted in faith, who desire Christ-centered homes, and who need the reassurance that God is still working, still healing, and still faithful.

Do you ever feel unsure how to respond as a Christian raising children in the ways of the Lord when the world feels loud, divided, and demanding your attention from every direction?
In this episode of Grounded Kids Resilient Faith, we pause and explore what it looks like to parent faithfully when culture is constantly telling us how to think, react, and raise our children. Rather than responding from fear, frustration, or emotion, this conversation invites parents and those raising children to allow God—not culture—to define their parenting and their responses.
We look at how Daniel in chapter 1 remained faithful in a pagan culture without withdrawing from it, how God honored quiet obedience with wisdom and favor, and why resilient faith is not something parents manufacture—but fruit God produces when we remain faithful to His ways.
This conversation is for Christian parents who long to raise children rooted in Christ, who will not fall away from the Lord—but who also recognize the need to keep their own hearts anchored in God’s truth amid cultural pressure.
Blessings, ✨ Tricia

Do your days feel so full that God ends up fitting in wherever there is space left?
In this episode, we pause and gently examine a pattern many Christian parents fall into—placing God alongside our schedules instead of allowing God to shape them.
This episode invites parents and those raising children to return to God first, so healing can take place before we attempt to disciple or lead spiritually. Through Joel 2 and compassionate biblical teaching, we explore how repentance is not religious performance, but a heart-level return to the Lord.
We look at how unresolved pain quietly shapes parenting, why God’s discipline flows from love rather than punishment, and how restoration follows when we surrender our checklists and place God above all things.
This conversation is for parents who long to raise children rooted in faith—but recognize their own hearts need care, healing, and realignment with God along the way.

Do you want your children to know who God truly is—not shaped by culture, opinion, or painful experiences, but rooted firmly in Scripture and truth?
In this episode of Grounded Kids Resilient Faith, we continue our Who God Really Is series by focusing on one foundational truth Jesus teaches in John 4:
God is Spirit.
This episode gently guides parents and those raising children to understand what it truly means to worship God in spirit and in truth, and why this matters deeply for raising children who remain faithful to the Lord when they are on their own.
Through Scripture, personal testimony, and practical discipleship teaching, we explore how worship changed because of Jesus and the resurrection—and how understanding God’s spiritual nature shapes resilient faith, guards against distorted views of God, and forms a life of whole-hearted worship.

Many Christian parents carry a quiet but deep concern:“Will my children stay faithful to Jesus when they leave home?”
This episode of Grounded Kids Resilient Faith is an encouraging, Scripture-rooted guide to help you anchor your children in lifelong, unshakable faith—not through pressure or perfect parenting, but through the inner work the Holy Spirit forms in their hearts.
In this episode, we look beyond daily parenting struggles and step into the long view of spiritual formation. Drawing from scripture, you’ll discover the four inner traits the Holy Spirit develops in children who remain faithful to Jesus well into adulthood:
✨ Spiritual Discernment — learning to recognize God’s voice and see through confusion
✨ Spirit-Led Identity — becoming secure as God’s child, rooted in belonging rather than fear
✨ Pure Motives — allowing God to shape the heart behind their choices
✨ A Guarded Inner Life — filling their hearts with Scripture so they can resist temptation
These traits aren’t formed by rigid rules or outward behavior—they grow through ordinary moments at home, simple conversations, and small daily rhythms that invite the Holy Spirit to work deeply inside your children.
These small, Spirit-led moments plant the seeds that become lifelong faith.
Blessings, ✨ Tricia

Do you long for joy in your parenting again, but aren’t sure how to get it back? If you have ever wondered: “How do I parent with joy when my heart feels broken?” This episode will show you exactly how Jesus meets you, heals you, and leads you back into joy.
We explore how Jesus restores joy to your heart and home, even when you are parenting through pain, exhaustion, or emotional wounds. Many Christian parents want to cultivate a peaceful, joyful atmosphere, but the chaos of daily life — along with unhealed parts of our own story — can slowly drain that joy away.
Drawing from John 17:13–15, Galatians 5:22–26, and Matthew 6:33, we uncover the biblical truth that joy is not something you produce — it is something Jesus gives.
This episode will equip you with practical “how-to” steps for Christ-like parenting in the middle of real-life chaos, helping you experience joy that isn’t dependent on your circumstances, but on the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and prayer spoken by Jesus
Blessings, ✨ Tricia
