Grounded Kids Resilient Faith I Christian Parenting, Family Discipleship, Raising Kids in Faith, Healing in Motherhood

Have you ever asked God, How am I supposed to raise Christ-rooted kids when He is still healing parts of my own heart? Do you ever wonder if the faith you are planting in your children will stand firm when they face the pressures of the world? Or find yourself asking if you are doing enough to help them trust Jesus deeply—while you’re still learning to trust Him more yourself?

If those questions have crossed your heart, you are not alone.

Welcome to Grounded Kids Resilient Faith, a podcast for Christian moms who want to trust God as they raise Christ-rooted children who stand firm in Jesus.

I’m Tricia Kelley—Jesus follower, homeschool mom, educator, and a woman who has experienced the healing work of God firsthand. Like many mothers, my journey with Jesus did not begin from a perfect place. It began with God gently meeting me in the middle of my story and restoring what was broken.

Now I’m raising my own children while learning, day by day, to trust God with the sacred responsibility of discipling their hearts.

Each week we talk about the healing work God does in a mother’s heart, the simple Deuteronomy 6:6–9 rhythms that keep Scripture at the center of family life, and how to raise children who don’t just know about Jesus but learn to seek Him first and trust what God’s Word says about Him—so their faith remains steady as they grow into adulthood.

This podcast is not about perfect parenting. It is about faithful discipleship in everyday life, trusting that God is at work in you and in your children.

If you long to raise kids whose faith is deeply rooted in Christ—while walking closely with God in your own motherhood—you are in the right place.

Today, I will  unpack the cultural message of self-reliance and how it can quietly shape the way we parent—and how our children grow up. Have you ever felt the pressure to do it all yourself—or watched your kids begin to carry that same burden? I will share a personal story of being raised in a home marked by addiction, independence, and the lie that “you don’t need anyone.” And how that belief followed me into adulthood... until God began rewriting the script.
Lets explore how to:
Recognize the sneaky ways self-reliance shows up in parenting
Break generational mindsets that prize independence over dependence on God
Raise children who rely on Christ as their true source of strength
This episode is both practical and deeply personal—encouraging you to lead your family with humility, connection, and God-dependence.
You are not alone. And you don’t have to carry it all. Let’s trade in striving for surrender.

Have you ever felt like you’re not a good enough parent because of your past? Do whispers of shame ever make you question your worth as a mom or dad? Today, we’re talking about parenting through shame with a Christ-centered perspective. Many Christian parents carry silent guilt from their past. But shame is a lie the enemy uses to keep you from walking in your God-given identity.
We will walk together toward healing so you can stop parenting from a place of shame and start parenting from a place of God’s truth and freedom.
You will learn how to invite the Holy Spirit into the places you feel least worthy and how to begin breaking the generational cycle of shame so your children don’t carry what was never meant to be theirs.
You are not your past. You are not too broken. And you are not alone.Blessings,  ✨Tricia

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to raise kids who know and love God, but we’re just so busy…”—then please tune in.
Today I’m sharing the one practice that has transformed how our family connects with God in the middle of everyday life: creating a simple “Seek First” moment in your day.
It’s about making space for God—right where you already are. Whether you’re reading a verse at breakfast, singing a worship song in the car, or praying together at night—this one rhythm will shift the atmosphere of your home and grow deep roots of faith in your kids.
You will hear how we made this habit part of our daily rhythm without stress, why it's essential, not optional, to open God’s Word together, and real-life examples that will help you start small but stay consistent.
Don’t wait for the “perfect moment.” Start small. Start today. Seeking God first—together—is the habit that will change everything.
Blessings,  ✨Tricia

We’re unpacking how to raise children with resilient, unshakable faith—faith that does not collapse when pain or trauma hits. If you’ve ever worried that your child might walk away from God because of suffering, disappointment, or unhealed wounds, then come and listen. You will learn how your response to your child’s pain directly shapes their view of God—and how to plant truth, peace, and faith that will carry them for life.
It’s not about perfect parenting. It’s about partnering with the Holy Spirit to show your kids what it means to stand firm when life shakes.
Here’s your challenge this week:
Ask the Holy Spirit: “Where am I reacting instead of responding with Your peace?”
Choose one intentional action:
Pray with your child during a hard moment
Read Psalm 46 as a family
Help your child bless someone who’s been unkind
🌱You don’t have to parent perfectly—you just need to stay planted in Christ. The more rooted you are, the more rooted your children will become.
Let’s raise a generation who knows where to run when life hurts—straight into the arms of Jesus.
And If this episode encouraged you, share it with another parent who's committed to the heart-work too.
Blessings,  ✨Tricia

Have you ever felt triggered, ashamed, or disconnected while parenting? You’re not alone. In this honest episode, we’re diving into the parenting patterns we don’t always talk about—the ones shaped by our childhood wounds. I will share my personal story of parenting through unhealed trauma, from anger that echoed in my own upbringing to the quiet belief that I needed to keep people at a distance. But through Scripture and the healing power of the Holy Spirit, I learned a better way—and want the same for you.
Listen and let this be a guide through healing from anger and abandonment, on how to spot when childhood pain is parenting your child instead of you, and how to trade striving for surrender so your parenting can flow from Christ—not your past.
This one’s for the mom, dad, or grandparent who wants to break generational cycles and raise kids rooted in faith, freedom, and God’s love.
